Dear Sir or Madame, I have a 2004 Civic Si, 1.7 Litre engine. I would appreciate a little advice. I just want to change the plugs & wires myself, but am wondering how to get at them. Does the entire air filter assembly have to be removed and is this a big deal? Also, I have purchased autolite double platinum plugs. Do these provide a better than average spark and are they good spark plugs? I do not have a picture to show you but you can't see the plugs or wires behind the air filter unit.
Thank you, Calvin.

I prefer NGK spark plugs for honda's. Personally I'd return the autolite's. But they should work fine.

There are no spark plug wires, only spark plugs. You must remove the black plastic cover that says "HONDA" on it. You can then access the ignition coils (one 10mm nut). Remove the coil and the spark plugs are below.

I just happened to have the long socket extension that I needed tp remove and replace. You guys are great. . The car seems to have a little more Cal
