2003 Honda Civic HELP! Please

So my engine maintainance light often turned on momentarily but now it stays on permanently and I was wondering what the possible causes might be and if it is safe to continue driving before I repair it

There could be numerous reasons for the light to come on. You need to have the cars computer read for fault codes. Most good autoparts stores (autozone etc.) Will read the car for free. Get the codes and repost for more information.

HI there,

The ECU has logged a fault code, the light is an indication of this, you will have to get a scan done to identify the code, this will be needed for your mechanic or us to identify the problem with your car, you should be able to drive it with out any problems but be aware that if the problem develops the ECU may shut down the engine or go to limp mode.
