Transmission Filter?

Does a Honda Civic need a transmission filter kit put on it? I was told that it doesn't really have a filter on it, just a screen type deal and that the filter kit would be recommended for the car. I have never worked with the transmission before, so I'm not sure if it is needed.

There is no serviceable transmission filter on that vehicle but they did add one to later cars which is an inline filter I think you can do it from your car as well. Here is a video showing you how to do the job.

You should get the filter for a later model car like 2010 civic and install it do the flush and service as well.

The filter on Honda A/T is inside the trans, it is actually the very last part to come out when a trans. Is dissasembled. Honda does make a inline filter for their cars now, you would have to ask a Honda Dealer if there is a Filter Kit for Civics. It is not needed only if you would like to take "Extra Care" of your A/T. Personally, I would do it, when you hear what people pay if they have to get their trans. Torn down & repaired !
