2002 Honda Civic Start/then dies

I have a 2002 Honda Civic LX 1.7
I changed the timing belt (becouse of Milege) ran fine before I changed belt but when I changed belt it starts good but dies in about 3 or so seconds, starts and runs smooth before it dies (sometimes there is a small backfire when it dies) what have I done any help would be great. Thank you Shawn

Hi shawnymaria,

Get a scan done to retrieve for trouble codes.

Since problem happend after timing belt replacement, I would suggest checking the crank sensor and its wiring.

I have checked No Codes and sensors are all good have also sprayed carb spray in intake to try to see if it was a problem of fuel and it still died Immediately.

When it can start, it means ignition and fuel are available. When it stalled, something has suddenly decided to quit. such symptoms are usually caused by crank or cam sensors.

The easiest way to find out is to get the freeze frame data and check through to find out what went missing.
