2002 Honda Civic power windows

the passenger side power window switch started to smoke on the drivers side as I tried to lower the window. does this mean that the motor is blown or a simple fuse? the window was having problems going up and down before - just moving a bit slower than the drivers.

Hi kbaily,

It could be a failing motor, a bad switch or restrictio of the glasses causing excessive resistance for the glass to move up.

Check the door glass channel for crumpling and try spraying some water onto the glass runchannel to see if the movement speed increases.
