The ABS Light is staying on and to get the prob diagnosed with honda costs loads. I have a feeling it is under the dash somewhere but am not sure where. I have a friend who can diagnose but doesn't know where the socket is.

It sounds like you may have a wheel speed sensor that is out. These videos will help us find the problem.

Please run down these guides and report back. You need a scan tool to do it, cant short the connector anymore like the older ones. The connector for the scan tool is located on the drivers side of the console just under the dash

We replaced the RF Axle on our 99 Honda Civic EX - aprox miles 101,000 - now the ABS brake light is on.
How do we reset this?

I would check to see if you disturbed anything in the area around the wheel speed sensor such as a wire, the connection, etc. Then I would unplug the sensor and hook up an ohm meter. Test the resistance of the sensor. Compare it to the other side and back. It is possible that the sensor has failed.

I have a 95 civic, when the ABS light is on the brakes work fine. When it is off, the peddle will pulse and I'll hear what sounds like a pump go off. It doesn't effect the brakes all that much, but still its pretty annoying. This "pump" also goes off while in park.

Hi kraemer56,

The ABS pump is failing due to pressure leakage and the motor has to keep running to keep up the pressure.

Get the brake fluid in the ABS pump changed and hope it remedies the problem, if not you need to replace the pump assy.
