2002 Honda Civic Engine Knock

I recently heard some engine knocking when stopped at an interesection at idle. The noise went away upon acceleration, but returned intermittenly through my drive. The next day, the noise was not present. Could this be related to spark misfires or something else?

Check your oil level, you may be low on engine oil causing starvation of oil on some critical internal parts.
