I have a 2002 Honda Civic. My car was hit in the front bumper by another car, causing a dent. Ever since then, the air conditioning has not worked. I took it to a mechanic, and they said that the cooling rod was bent, and the fan cut it, and it now won't hold any freon? First of all, what is a cooling rod? I can't find anything when I search for it online. And second of all, how much should it cost to fix?

I been a Honda Tech. for 15 years, & a Asian Auto Tech for 26 years, never heard of that "cooling rod" before. Unless they mean cooling rad. for radiator, which would be called condenser. Looks like a small radiator & is in frt. of radiator. Or maybe they mean one of the pipes in a/c system. If you can't afford to have it put on a/c machine at a shop, buy some freon at a parts store & shoot it in low side fitting.
{Larger pipe} Just part of a can may be enough to see where it's coming out. Look around area car was hit. Ck. condenser area next in frt. of car. Have someone help you look so don't use lot of freon. You still may have to buy part, but you will know what leaking. Good Luck
