We have a 2002 civicthat we can not push in the lock on the shifter to put the car into gear. We have wiggled the stearing wheel and the car is sitting on level ground. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Is there a shifter override spot next to shifter that you can install a key to temporarily over ride the shifter lock? Try wiggling the brake pedal and check to see if the brake lights are working. This controls the shifter interlock
