After the engine warmed up, and I drive on the road, it blows hot air, but as soon as I stop at a red light or slow down, it starts blowing cold air.

I try to figure out what is causing this problem. The water pump (and thermostat) was replaced 2 years ago when I did the 106K mile tune-up and timing belt change. And I put 5 year or 150,000 mile antifreeze or something like that.

I am currently having the exact same issue with my 2001 Honda Civic LX, Front Wheel Automatic, 130,000 miles. Heat worked fine up until this year. Please let me know if you figure out the problem, I will do the same.

Had the same problem with my 2001 Civic with 144000 miles on it. My mechanic detected exhaust gases in the coolant and suspected a bad head gasket. I had the gasket replaced and my heater is working fine now. It was expensive but worth it.
