Not sure if this is Honda related or just remote car starter related. In any case, if you have any ideas please let me know.

I have a 2001 Civic Si-G and had a Nustart Nu1000R remote starter installed by a "qualified technican". When installing the starter, he also hooked up the remote door locks. The drivers side works fine, but the passenger door will not lock/unlock using the remote or the switch on the driver's door. When either are triggered, there is a noise coming from inside the door which sounds like the motor trying to lock the door.

The technician says that it's a problem with the motor and nothing to do with the install of the auto door locks. Sounds a little too coincidental to me. We never had any problem with the door locks prior to this install.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

We mechanics call this the evasinchas. When door lock actuator makes the sound your describinng it is usually no good. Unfortunately its not related to the alarm, just coincidence. The way the lock actuator is wired, it is impossible to wire it incorrectly causing it to fail, it just would not work. Im not saying for a fact this is what is wrong with it because the car is not in front of me. But id bet its just a faulty door lock actuator. I hope this eases your mind.
