2001 Honda Civic hesitation in start

When I turn the igition to start my vehicle, there is a hesitation, then my car starts. (During the hesitation, all the lights on my dash dim). It sounds like my car struggles to start.

Have the battery load tested. If that passes, have an AVR test done and a parasitic draw test. These tests will most likely find something wrong with either your battery or charging system.
