My A/C is blowing hot air one day and the next day its blowing cold. When its blowing cold air I can heard the clutch working on the compressor. When its blowing hot air the clutch is not working. Why is it that the clutch to the compressor works went it wants to? And yes I am pushing the A/C button to green.

Hi zecadr,

There are a few possibilities for the problem.

1. Failing compressor clutch. When the compressor does not work, check if power is getting to the compressor coil. If yes, then the clutch is intermittently not working due to a bad clutch or the clearance is too great.

2. Faulty compressor clutch relay.

3. Faulty PCM. The compressor clutch relay is activated by the ground fro the PCM and for this model, it is quite a common fault.
