Had the clutch replaced recently - after replacement, clutch now must be pressed completely into ground before shifting.. but more problematic is that when going into & out of 1st, 2nd and reverse mainly, shifting is very difficult & sometimes impossible. Other times it may go in kinda smoothly, it seems random. Also, shudders when clutch is pressed down completely & in gear.

He stated that the old clutch had worn a groove, and the new clutch would be smoother after a while... and that he is also going to remove the transmission again to re-grease with high-temp lube. He previously polished & greased, and it worked for a day, then wore off and was back to old shifting problems... Any other suggestions as to what he could do? There were no problems with the transmission before clutch replacement.

I believe he has bled the lines & replaced the slave/master cylinders already. Probably the flywheel too... not sure about the throwout or pilot bearing.

Hi ylimehere,

Either the clutch pressure plate is bad or the master cylinder is improperly adjusted resulting in insufficient travel of the clutch fork to release the clutch disc.
