Shakes or Wobbles problem
2000 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 151,00 miles

I have a 2000 Honda civic with about 151,000 miles. The car vibrates alot when idle, usually not immediatley but when idle for more than a "minute". Today while waiting in a school carpool line, I was idle several minutes and the check engine light came on. I took it to an auto parts place to see what the problem was and the idle air motor code came up. I just had to replace the distributor (my brother in law did this for me) 2 days ago but was told that the two were not related.
My main questions are : does this diagnosis sound consistent with the symptoms and can I delay replacing the idle air motor for a few days without causing damage to my car? Furthermore, would it be a good idea to first clean the idle air motor to see if perhaps this helps before spending more money replacing another part? Thank you!

If the DTC indicates a faulty IACV, you need to replace it. Cleaning it will do nothing.

You can go a few more days driving like this, however.. you will create more carbon in your engine (which is bad) and your fuel emissions will be poor.
