I was driving my car and it was low on gas. All of a sudden it slowed down and then completely stopped in the middle of the road. All my lights and everything turn on. As I try to start my car again it just makes a sound that it's trying to start, but can't. I did go and get gas thinking that could be the problem, but I got 2 gallons and it still did the same thing. Now when I try to start it it barely even makes a noise and doesn't even respond. What am I looking at here that could be wrong with it? The oil was just changed last week. I replaced my water pump and battery within the last two years. Thanks!

Lets get the battery and alternator checked out -if okay-start a fuel pressure check to rule out a faulty fuel pump then we'll go to the ignition system.

If it cranks over and refuses to start you can do below and see what hapens.

Get a carb cleaner and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil,distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors-
