My son and I just finished a stereo installation and in the process we had to remove the automatic gear shift knob. Is there a special alignment process or tools we should be using. When we reinstalled the shift knob we were not able to turn the ignition switch all the way back for key removal. Please help ASAP!!!

Thanks

Hi lanejaguar,

No special tools are required for reinstallation of the gear knob.

If the gear shift is not seated correctly in the park position, the ignition key would not be released by the key interlock.

Check the P position indicator light in dash to confirm gear shift is seated correctly.
