I started my car the other day and heard a loud squealing. I then turn on my defrost and smoke started pouring into my car from the heater vents. When I popped open the hood I also noticed smoke coming from a plastic box located near the radiator and windshield washer fluid.

Please let me know if you have any idea what is going on.

Thanks

Are you sure that a belt is not the source of the squealing noise? It can be but the cause will likely be a bad component that it drives such as the alternator, a/c compressor, power steering, etc. Can you provide more information?
