AC went out on the daughter's civic. Was working fine, no degradation. Compressor will kick in and radiator fan will run, but the low side pressure stays constant at 95 psi. Now instead of cycling, the compressor will keep drag on the engine and the (comp) clutch begins to overheat (smell). Initially, I thought maybe thermal expansion valve. Should I just get the compressor, valve, and drier and replace all at once? Any other suggestions? Low side pressure does not change with compressor on/off cycles.

Thanks

The equalized pressures means comp. has shot craps. So you need that and receiver dryer when you get comp. off look in ports if you see metal then a flush and expansion valve.
Good luck
