1999 Honda Civic Timing Belt

I am having trouble with starting my car. It cranks, but does not turn over. After trying it many times (with intervals in between) it will sometimes start. I think my car needs a timing belt (or timing chain - not sure of the proper term) installed. What is the cost for installing this?

Also, do you have any suggestions as to what else the problem may be?

You have a timing belt. The labour replacement is about 2.8 hr for the belt, if you replace the water pump as well its 3.2 hrs. The belt and pump itself are not expensive at all, if you go aftermarket, maybe $75 for the pair.

The only way your belt could cause a no start is if it jumped a tooth or snapped. If so, this can cause serious damage to the engine since you have an interference engine, I would get it towed right away and checked out by a qualified mechanic.
