I was driving my car when I heard a strange spring like sound coming from the drivers side front. Could this be a broken spring or something else ?

Frequency of noise? intermittent, all the time?
Imagine calling a doctor and telling him you are ill, how would he know due to what if you don't tell him the symptoms?
