If you can manually push the door glass up to top and there is slack, the regulator is faulty and needs to be replaced.

If it cannot be done, then the runchannel is bad and restricting the door glass movement. If using your hand to assist works, you can try spraying some silicone or wax based lubricants to the runchannel at the front end near side mirrors. If it works, it would only be temporary, you need to replace the runchannel to solve the problem.
