Noises problem
1999 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

there is a loud squeeling coming from my front wheels. The sound occurrs all the time when i am driving but goes away when i hit the brakes hard. Sometimes there is no sound but only after i have driven for awhile. Im not sure if it is my brakes or steering or bearings or something in the wheels. I really only know the basics about cars so any information will help... im afraid to get the brakes changed and that not be the problem

Hi there,

often brake pads have a small tin wear indicator that rubs on the rotor when the brakes are low and this will make a loud squeal , this is an audible warning that the pads are low, have then checked first.
