Electrical problem
1999 Honda Civic 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi after a couple days seeing my check engine i got it diagnosed and was told my knock sensor needs to be replaced. It is a expensive piece to be replaced and was wondering what causes the sensor to stop working and is there any other solutions besides actually buying another sensor.

Hi brandon10,

If the sensor is bad, then there is no alternative but to replace it. It could be the wiring or the PCM fault and testings have to be carried out to determine what is the cause.

For a cheaper alternative, you can try getting the part from the junkyard.
