1999 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 126000 miles

I just bought a used 1999 civic lx, when I tested it at the seller's everything was fine. But later after I started driving a little bit I found that when the A/C is turned on the engine makes noises, a squeak or whistle like and increases as I accelerate. Also the engine vibrates more and the driving wheel when A/C is on. I have no major experience but I suspect that this could be a bulley or belt problem with the a/c compressor! Other than that the A/C works really fine.

The a/c idler pulley is a very common failing item on your vehicle. I'd recommend you taking a look at that first as well as your belt.

My honda is doing that too. I had to replace the driver side fan cause is was no longer working which was making the compressor lock up. No it will squeal or whistle when I accelerate. A mechanic told me I needed a new compressor. 300 dollars. 100 for a mechanic to put it in. I found one online for 190 though. Also check and see if you have a broken motor mount. That will cause shaking.
