My daughter's Civic has an erratic fuel gauge. It goes from full to empty w/ light when driving or on flat ground idling. Does this car have a sensor/ meter or do you think it is the gauge itself? The car drives fine so I dont think it's the fuel pump or relay. Thanks for any help I don't want to shotgun the problem with unneeded expensive parts.

Could be a problem with the fuel sending unit/gauge-check wiring harness/connector-also see below
