1999 Honda Civic car stopped suddenly while driving - doesn

My car stopped running suddenly while driving. Firestone guys told that the distrubutor has to be replaced. My question is, if the distrubutor has become a problem, what will be the life of the car with a new distrubutor on it?

It's impossible to predict the life of the car without knowing the maintenance and the current state the vehicle is in.

But making a generalized statement, honda's do seem to last along time.
