1999 Honda Civic brake lights

Brakes problem
1999 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

well my brake lights wont come on any more.i took the relay button on the brake it self off and took it all a part cleaned it and put it back on and the brake lights still dont come on but when you turn the lights on all the running lights come on even the ones you use for the brakes but when you turn them off and press the brakes the brake lights dont come on.what are your thoughts?

You got a short in the harness somewhere most likely. The power wire for the taillights is shorting against the brake light circuit.

what do you recommend i do first?do i pull all the wires out and see if one of the wires are burnt?or what do you recommend.i mean how do you check if theres a short in the wires?what do i need?
