I had an engine light for couple of days and my mechanic told me his diagnostic says it's a Barometric Pressure issue and according to him "the whole computer has to be changed!"...a total of $1000 fix including inspection.

would it take that much to replace this barometric issue?

Hi honda1999,

That item is located inside the ECM so no repairs available.
I am unable to provide the cost of how much the ECM cost but it might cost less if you can get it from the junk yard. Just ensure part number is the same.
