Electrical problem
1999 Honda Civic 4 cyl

My civic radio has just stopped working. by that i mean that all i can pick up is static. all the other features and components work on the radio, the clock the buttons and even can serch or punch in my radio stations but all i can hear is static. I dont have an external antenna and dont know if it could be the internal antenna or what? if it is the internal antenna where is is located and how can i fix it.

Hi 99civicLX45,

There is a window antenna coil under the rear shelf. You need to remove the rear shelf to gain access.

is this a relatively easy process? or should i bring it to a professional? how much would something like this cost?

It is not a difficult job.

To remove the rear shelf, the seats and cushions have to be taken out.

The time for the job should be about an hour.
