1998 Honda Civic Steering not smooth to turn

Hi, I have a Honda Civic 1.5 Vtec 1998 model with alloy wheels.I have been using it for the last 3 years and find my steering wheel tight not very tight but compared to the cars of the same age it is not smooth. I checked the power steering fluid & the belt and its fine.Please advice.

could you please explain xactly what you mean by tight. What does the steering do?

It is slightly harder to turn not as smooth as a normal power steering wheel.

has the front end been lubes lately? Have it checked for any binding areas such as ball joints, also have the steering box checked for grease. most cars this is a sealed unit but on some they can be checked.
