I have a 98 Civic that I bought used. When ever I engage the AC in the cabin it starts to squeek. I tried tightening up the belt, Replacing the belt. The AC still works good, but the noise is so annoying. It seems fine at idle, but anything past 3,000 RPM it squeeks. Any help? I am trying to avoid getting a new pump. If I have to, know of any place that is cheap that I can buy and replace it?

Hi ammoguy2008,

Did you check the idler bearings and crankshaft pulley?

Compressors seldom squeeks unless the bearing is faulty.
