1998 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 71OOO miles

My 1998 Civic failed emmisions testing with the diagnostic Idle air control system. I just bought the car for my daughters first car and seems to drive well but the idle does rev up and down when car is put in park after driving a little. Any Ideas?

Try cleaning your idle air control valve, just make sure that the pintle doesn't go out too far, it may not go back in. If that doesn't help, you have to replace the IACV.
