Transmission problem
1998 Honda Civic Front Wheel Drive Automatic 136000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi...My car model is an EX. I recently had my old transmission replaced with a used transmission from a Honda with 58,000 miles on it (had to have my original transm. replaced due to fact that check engine light had come on and computer indicated my car had transmission problems). After the replacement, the check engine light went out but after a few days when I increased acceleration, the light came back on. At this point, car has been back to the shop at least 2 other times due to the light coming back on. It has had the solenoid replaced at least twice and the mechanic did a few other things including clearning out the fuel line on the fuel injectors. The other day the check engine light went on again and the computer at the shop indicated a solenoid problem again and also a code that translates to "Transmission Module Code" (which has also come up before). I have a warranty with the shop on this used transmission. What do you think the problem is and what do you say should be done to fix the problem once and for all?
Thank you for your help!

Hi vdupont,

If TCM module error code, means you might have to replace ECU/TCM. The TCM might have internal faults resulting in intermittent failure.
