Hi, 1998 civic with 138,500 miles. Check engine light came on, I let it go for a few months (I know, bad). Car started running poorly. Took it to a mechanic recommended by a friend. They seemed good/honest. Turns out I needed front O2 sensor replaced and new plugs. Also had the fuel filter changed. They also recommended new wires, cap and rotor because of the faulty O2 sensor and overdue plugs. I declined because I just had the wires, cap and rotor changed 3 yrs and 17,000 miles ago. Should I wait and see how the car does or should I follow their recommendations? Thanks

Follow what's recommended or just let it go and let the gas stations get rich with today's fuel prices-your shot- The snitcher ( Oxygen Sensor ) is the one that controls fuel adjustment during closed looping of the fuel-
