When you turn blower for a/c or heater on it makes a loud rattling screeching noice i figure either fan is loose (out of balance or the motor has had its day).
How difficult is it to change this motor , I can buy new motor on line for $65.00 but the dealer is qouting HI $$$$$$$$$$$ to do the job >

yeah im gonna tell you , in my personal opinion, dealers are over rated, and you should just go to a regular shop to do your work. its sometimes a several hundred dollars cheaper, then if you buy the part yourself and just have them put it on, your just paying for labor then, instead of paying them triple for the same part. and yes this kind of job is pretty easy. but get yourself some other opinions and you may be pleasently surprised on the prices, and yes the bearings in the motor is probably shot or the fan is off center or somethng. whole point being its time for a new one
