Noises problem
1997 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 95000 miles

Hi,When I start my car it sounds like a sewing machine till it warms up.I don't know if the lifters are sticking or what?

Hi lacomjo,

Lifters are not hydraulically operated so if they are bad or out of adjustment, the noise should be there even when engine is warmed up, except you might need to rev up the engine a little to get the same noise level.

A loose timing belt would cause rattling noise when engine is cold. Your mileage is almost at the recommended mileage for replacement so you should check that out.
