After I replaced the ignition coil in my car it sputters at higher speeds and sometimes when I start from a stop. When I was trying to get the rotor off I busted it along with the leak cover so I also replace the the rotor but couldn't find the leak cover I used the same cap witch had a lot of white build-up stuck to the little metal nubs on the underside of the cap. Before I put it back on I scraped the whits stuff off. Does any of this have to do with what I did or didn't replace of is it just the timing?

Hi 97EJ,

Thank you for the donation.

What you have done should not be the cause of the problem.

It could be the ignition timing, clogged fuel filter resulting in insufficient fuel supply at high speed, ignition wires and/or sprk plugs or the distributor cap that is bad.

Check if the spark plug wires are securely installed and also if there are whitish oxidation withint the plugged in point of the distributor cap.
