I just replaced the clutch assemble in the car. The problem is sitting at idle I have a hard time shifting into any gear, it feels like the clutch is not disengaging all the way. And when I do have it in gear on flat road with the clutch all the way to the floor it wants to surge forward a little. I have bleed the the hydraulic system completely. Plus there is about a 2in. play in the clutch petal. In need of a little help

Thanks for your time Lee Dougherty

Hello,

This could be due to a stretched clutch cable. You should not have more than 3/4" of free play on the pedal. So having 2" play is surely excessive.
When you have excessive play the clutch will not be fully disengaged while the pedal gets depressed.

I have attached the clutch pedal adjustment procedure below.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
