1997 Honda Civic hoodlatch release broken

1997 Honda Civic Automatic 225000 miles

how do i open the hood of my car when the hoodlatch release is broken? when i pull the release latch under the steering wheel it comes out. I have not pulled it all the way out. the hood did not unlatch.

Hi moyamaria,

If the opener is broken, you can use a plier to pull the cable to release the latch.

If the cable is broken, that would make things complicated. You would have to find a means of getting at the hood latch release from below the vehicle.
