The gear shift, or stick to my standard honda civic collapses every 5 mins. By collapse I mean the stick just falls down towards the bottom of the car. It falls in almost everytime I shift into neutral and I have to consistently pull the gear shift up and pop it back into place for it to just fall back down 5 mins later. I kno the only solution is to replace the entire thing but can anyone tell me how much I am going to have to pay to get this fixed?

Depends what is wrong with it.
If you can take a peak at it, look to see if the stabilizer linkage is still bolted to the under body of the vehicle.

It is still bolted to the bottom of the car but it is very worn and rusted. I peaked under the car and it seems that the "ball" that holds the stick in place is worn and doesnt fit in the socket anymore that leads into the inside of the car, which is why it keeps falling down. Sry for my ignorant terms im not very knowledgeable of car parts. Yet
