1997 Honda Civic engine sputters while trying to hold const

Engine sputters when trying to hold constant speed such as 55 mph. Idle okay, start okay, up to speed ok, fast take off okay. Help!

I would scan it first to see if there are any pending or current trouble codes in the system.

If there are none, I would first check the basic tune-up items, if they are fine then you must hook up a scantool and read all the data PID's while the vehicle is acting up. It may be a sensor that is out-of-range.
