I am having a lot of trouble removing the nut, and I believe that I need to remove a stake first. My main problem is that I can't remove the stake, and may even be confused on what exactly is the stake. Is the whole round thing inside of the nut the stake? Or is it a smaller piece? I am pretty confused here.

Hi jeoku,

The stake is the tabbed point used to lock the nut from unloosening. Not necessary to unlock if it is too tight.
