ok so my car run like crap when i put any kind of load on it. when its cold (under 30 degrees here in indiana) its runs ok for about 60 seconds then it will cut out and i will hear backfiring comming from the intake and exhaust. i think its my distributor but im not forsure and i want some profesional advice before i go out and buy a distributor. i changed the cap and rotor and same problem. the plugs were changed this summer or fall with ngk plugs. it will run ok if i barely but a load on it but as soon as i try to accelerate it sputters. any help would be appreciated.

Hi ryanhauk,

It could be the ignition coil inside the distributor that is failing. Check if the sparks are brigt blue or dull orange.

Another possible fault would be the fuel pressure. Get it tested to see if it is good.
