Water pumped froze and broke the timing belt. I replaced both. #1 and 2 pistons have 180psi compressions. # 3 piston @ 170 psi. #4 piston is @ 150psi. The car drive a bit rough and emitts some some while driving.

Quetions: If I were to replace the valves, should I replace all the valves or just the damaged? Do I need to replace the valve springs, Valve guides, etc?

Thank you for your input.

Sincerely
Daniel Takayama

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Each valve & guide can be assessed individually, if its not damaged ti can be refaced with out a problem, same with the guides & seats, valve springs should be fine, you can measure the free length and compression rates and check against normal specs if you want, but I only ever do this with performance engines as normally this is not a problem.

Hello. Thanks for the donation. Much appreciated

Your cylinders are within the spec's. Generally you replace just the bent valves. But I would alway's have the head pressure tested whilst still off the vehicle to be sure a valve is not slightly bent or there are damaged valve seals/guides. The springs should not need to be replaced

Engine compression
Civic. Standard Psi184. Min Psi135. RPM@250

Hope this helps. Let me know
