Hi!

I am busy changing the boots on the Outer CV joints on my 97 Honda Civic Coupe.

I have got to the stage where the boots are back on the drive shafts (not secured yet) but having a bit of trouble getting the CV joints back on past the circlips - i have managed to break these by following instructions on reassembly of the driveshaft.

My question is; am I able to drive the car without the circlips or is it a bad idea to do so? Also, how do I get the CV joint splines past the circlips when reassembling the drive shaft?

Thanks for any help!!

You need to compresson the cir-clip and lightly tap the cj joint with a brass or plastic hammer until it passes the clip.
