When I start driving, the car sometimes stalls and I have to press the accelerator really hard to bring back the car to its normal speed. If I do so, the car accelerates quickly and reaches high speed. But when I release the accelerator/slow down, the problem (might) occur(s) again. THIS PROBLEM DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. This problem was more frequent when I used "regular" quality fuel. But when I switched to "plus" quality fuel, the problem did't occur for a while, but it has started occuring again and its intermittent. The observations are:
[1] The car slows down suddenly or fails to accelerate at NORMAL SPEED even though the accelerator pedal is down and the RPM meter shows high/normal RPM.
[2] If the accelerator pedal is pushed hard, the car accelerates suddenly and reaches high speed and I can hear the engine roar - like it normally does when shifting gears (automatic).
[3] A while after the problem occurs, the car starts to run normally and smoothly.
I have maintained the car well and I change the engine oil every 6 months or every 4k miles. I recently got the car tuned. The person I bought the car from said that the timing belt has been changed when the car was 95k miles old. So, I guess it is not a problem with the timing belt.
Can you please diagnose the problem? Thanks!
