1996 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the rack boot on my civic is torn and leaking fluid badly. Could the boot be the problem? Or is the boot just a dust cover? I see a hose that connects into the back of the boot. So i'm hoping by replacing the boot it will fix the bad leak.

Hi jcoffey,

A torn boot would not result in leakages. The seals are bad and you would have to remove the steering rack to replace the seals or replace the rack assy to rectify.
