Heater problem
1996 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 196000 miles

Well I was driving my car to work when all of a sudden my heater started blowing cold air. I could smell like a burning syrup type smell, after maybe 2mins after that my car began to overheat. Ive had problems with my car over heating before but my step dad put some work into and it hasn't over heated since. But this is the first time my heater went out and then my car started to over heat. Can someone please help me out? Please....

Replace the thermostat and go from there.
