I was told by the mechanics that one of my cylinders is down. they said it would cost more to fix it than to have a swap engine. Now my car is burning oil and it does leak oil in my exhaust. I can smell fumes when i stop my car but i won't while im driving. Should i have the engine replace?...also how often do i change my oil seeing how its burning oil. should i just keep putting oil in?

Hi l0gic,

With the amount of oil being burnt, you would not have the chance to replace the oil as the topping up would keep the oil as new as can be.

Get the engine swapped or rebuilt as topping up of oil is not going to be good for the environment with the amount of emission.
